Creating an OKR Dashboard in HubSpot is both a visual and useful way to track ongoing progress on your objectives.
As a reminder, OKRS or Objective and Key Results, is a goal setting framework widely used in business and organizations to align and focus teams on achieving overall company objectives.
They are a great way to crystallize strategic goals and decide on measurable tactics for the near term.
When those objectives are revenue goals or customer engagement goals, then the measurable tactics often correlate to activities we do on HubSpot.
Designing a dashboard that visualizes those goals has many benefits. It turns into something you and your can see on an ongoing basis. Not just at a quarterly checkpoint.
And when your objectives are similar from quarter to quarter, then comparative reports can also help you to see trends.
In designing the dashboard, I make use of the feature that allows you to add notes on your dashboard. This can be either text, an image or even a video.
On the far-left side I insert a block that explains the OKR I am setting. For example, my primary goal is a specific revenue goal each month.
Then to the right of this explainer, I insert the Dashboard reports that measure the tactics towards that goal.
- Deals created totals vs. goal.
- Deals closed totals (in revenue) vs goal.
- New Contacts by Source.
- Contacts created and worked totals with deals created and won totals.
The dashboard continues with further OKRS. An explanation to the left. Associated reports to the right.
You can use embedded content any time that you want to add more context or explanation to help people better understand the reports.
While visualization is key to helping us see what the report displays – words, images or videos can provide the context for the information you are seeing.
I use it for OKR reports. Some people embed training videos so that it because a quick how-to guide with reports giving the example. You could even add images or embedded content from other sources that flush out a fuller picture.
What do you think of this feature? Would you find it helpful to design an OKR Dashboard right inside HubSpot?
