As we close out the year, I want to express my gratitude to you for being on my list and reading my newsletter in 2022. I hope it’s been a great customer experience for you! And that you found value in it.
It’s been a year that wasn’t what we expected.
At the start of the year, we all thought it was going to be a year focused on growth. With the pandemic lessening and people focused on recovery. The only way to go was up!
Then we had other things come out of left field. The war in Ukraine. Stock market upheaval. Inflation. Rising interest rates. Continued supply chain issues. Well, I don’t have to tell you about that. We all lived it.
Things changed over the year, including both my writing and your reading!
So, today’s look back needed some refinement. A quarter by quarter view rather then the full year.
Here are the newsletters most opened by readers, in each quarter. Enjoy reading them again!
Q1 – Feb 16 – How do you know your best ideas are the best?
Marketers are creative. So, generating ideas is the easy part. Knowing they are your best ideas requires exploration and evaluation
Q2 – Apr 6 – Should you offer your learning platform as a free service?
Should you offer your learning platform as a free service? I believe the answer is a very big IT DEPENDS. Often on your business model. On your products. On your revenue tiers.
Q3 – Aug 31 – What does business expansion signal for you?
What comes to mind when you think of the phrase business expansion. New markets? Hiring employees? New products? Increased revenue? There is no right answer. It might signal where you want to start.
Q4 – Oct 28 – Is your digital transformation providing value to customers?
Your digital transformation strategy works best when you anchor it on providing value to the customer. Customers will tell you if it’s not.
And finally, one of my favorites. Possibly a bit of recently bias. Also, a favorite because it resonates as one of the shifts that happened this year. That our efforts for growth are underpinned by a focus on value.
Dec 8 – In 2023, investment will focus on value
One of LinkedIn News big ideas for 2023 is that VCs will shift to focus on value. Forgoing hunting unicorns to search for work horses.
Once again, thank you for reading my newsletter in 2022. All the best for you in 2023.
