There is more work to be done to channel girls into non traditional roles in STEM. At the same time traditionally masculine roles can benefit from an injection of characteristics that are considered feminine. A great side effect of diverse teams.
Are you Agile with a little “a”
This past winter I received a great piece of advice from an Agile Coach. It was not to get hung up on titles, to consider a gig based on whether or not you feel it will be a great learning opportunity for you. There can be very big differences in what a person with a given title does at one company as opposed to another.
When did compare become contrast?
I think that we have often lost the art of compare. Compare seems to have morphed into another form of contrast. We compare and find something lacking. We compare ourselves to people and decide they are the other. Or we decide we have something lacking and it erodes our self-esteem.
Is limited access to a Product Owner on an Agile team a bottleneck?
In some environments they have limited access to the Product Owner because the PO has multiple duties and responsibility to the business and customers. In system language… Does that make the Product Owner a single-point-of-failure?
How do you like to delivery bad news?
The reality of being connected all over the world is that sometimes we aren’t nearby. The point is to be “present” with the person receiving the news, regardless of the technology you use. So yes, in person is the best. If you have the luxury.
A comparison of Agile User Stories to Lean Startup Value Proposition
I can’t help look at the User Story as being a form of Value Proposition. Or re-framed, the Value Proposition being a company’s over-reaching umbrella Agile Epic.
